These Session Terms and Cancellation Policy (“Session Terms”) apply whenever you schedule, purchase, attend, participate in, or modify a studio session provided by MA Studios LLC, doing business as MA Music Studio and MA Music (“MA Music,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Session Terms supplement the MA Music Terms of Service. By completing a session booking, you agree to both documents.
If these Session Terms conflict with the general Terms of Service regarding a scheduled studio session, these more specific Session Terms will control.
1. Services Covered
These Session Terms may apply to services including:
- Recording Sessions
- Mix Development Sessions
- Recording and Mix Development Sessions
- Beat Development Sessions, when offered
- Production or arrangement sessions
- Listening or project-review sessions
- Rehearsal or studio-use appointments, when offered
- Other scheduled studio services identified during checkout
The services included in your appointment are the services shown in your confirmed booking and active session configuration.
A session does not automatically include:
- A finished commercial mix
- A finished master
- Beat ownership or licensing
- Sample clearance
- Distribution
- Publishing administration
- Unlimited revisions
- Permanent file storage
- Additional studio time
- Services not shown in the confirmed booking
Additional services may be purchased separately when available.
2. Booking Confirmation
A session is confirmed only after:
- The booking has been accepted by MA Music;
- Any required payment has been successfully completed; and
- You receive a confirmation page, email, workspace notice, or other confirmation from MA Music.
Starting the Session Builder, placing a session in a cart, viewing an available time, or entering checkout does not permanently reserve that time.
Availability may change until checkout is successfully completed.
You are responsible for reviewing the following before completing your purchase:
- Session date
- Start time
- Duration
- Selected service type
- Assigned studio professional, when shown
- Location
- Customer contact information
- Source-material selections
- Amount due
- Applicable policies
Contact MA Music promptly if you believe the confirmation contains an error.
3. Payment
Unless MA Music approves another arrangement in writing, payment is required before the session begins.
You authorize MA Music and its payment provider to charge the payment method selected during checkout for:
- The confirmed session;
- Selected upgrades;
- Additional time;
- Services added during the session;
- Products or licenses included in the order; and
- Other amounts clearly approved by you.
A session is not considered paid merely because:
- A cart was created;
- A payment page was opened;
- A payment attempt was started;
- A card authorization failed;
- An invoice was issued; or
- A payment remains pending.
MA Music may require certain customers to prepay all future services. Prepayment may be required following:
- A missed or unpaid session;
- A chargeback or payment dispute;
- Repeated late cancellations;
- Repeated no-shows;
- Damage to studio property;
- Abusive or unsafe conduct; or
- Another material violation of MA Music policies.
4. Session Start and End Times
Your booking reserves a specific block of studio time.
The session begins at the confirmed start time, not when you arrive or become ready to work.
Examples of customer-caused delays that generally count as booked session time include:
- Arriving late
- Waiting for guests or collaborators
- Searching for files
- Downloading beats or stems
- Locating login credentials
- Rewriting lyrics
- Preparing unfinished material
- Resolving licensing or ownership questions
- Setting up personal equipment
- Taking customer-requested breaks
- Handling unrelated calls or conversations
The session will normally end at the confirmed end time, even when you arrive late.
This protects later appointments and the schedules of MA Music personnel.
MA Music is not required to extend a session because of customer or guest lateness.
5. Studio Preparation
You are responsible for arriving prepared to use the time you booked.
Before the session, you should:
- Confirm the correct date and time;
- Bring or upload the necessary beat, instrumental, stems, lyrics, references, or project files;
- Confirm that files open and play correctly;
- Bring any required beat licenses or permissions;
- Confirm featured artists and collaborators are available;
- Know your lyrics or have them readily accessible;
- Communicate special technical needs in advance; and
- Bring any personal equipment, adapters, drives, or accessories you have been instructed to provide.
MA Music may assist with preparation during the session, but time spent correcting incomplete preparation will normally remain part of the booked time.
MA Music does not guarantee that files from third-party websites, private links, expired downloads, unsupported formats, damaged archives, or inaccessible accounts can be retrieved during the appointment.
6. File and Source-Material Requirements
Files submitted before or during a session must be:
- Material you own or are authorized to use;
- Reasonably related to the booked service;
- In a supported or commonly usable format;
- Free from malware or intentionally harmful content; and
- Supplied early enough to be processed within the scheduled time.
MA Music may reject or quarantine files that are:
- Corrupted;
- Unreadable;
- Password-protected without the necessary password;
- Unreasonably large for the service;
- In an unsupported format;
- Contained in unsafe or misleading archives;
- Suspected to contain malicious software; or
- Submitted without sufficient authorization.
If an uploaded file cannot be used, you may need to provide a replacement. This does not automatically extend the session.
7. Rights to Beats, Samples, and Recordings
You represent that you have sufficient permission to use every beat, instrumental, sample, recording, stem, lyric, artwork, and other work you provide.
You are responsible for:
- Purchasing any required beat license;
- Following the terms of a beat lease;
- Clearing samples and interpolations;
- Obtaining consent from featured performers;
- Confirming producer and songwriter splits;
- Obtaining permission to use another person’s recordings;
- Properly crediting creators; and
- Resolving copyright or ownership disputes.
MA Music may ask for information about the source of material but is not responsible for independently verifying every license, sample, beat, or ownership claim.
The fact that MA Music records, edits, mixes, stores, exports, or delivers a project does not mean that MA Music has determined the project is legally cleared for release.
MA Music may stop work or restrict delivery if a credible ownership or infringement dispute arises.
8. Service Types and Session Configuration
Your session configuration identifies the type of work included in the appointment.
Depending on availability and the status of the session, MA Music may allow you to change the active service configuration during the appointment.
For example, an eligible session may be changed from:
- Recording to Mix Development;
- Recording to Recording and Mix Development;
- Mix Development to another eligible active-session service; or
- One source or project target to another.
Any change is subject to:
- Studio professional availability;
- The amount of session time remaining;
- Technical feasibility;
- The current service price;
- Approval through the active session system or by MA Music; and
- Payment of any additional amount due.
A requested service change is not effective until it has been accepted and saved by MA Music or within the applicable session interface.
Service types generally cannot be changed retroactively after the session has ended.
9. Additional Time
Additional studio time is not guaranteed.
An extension may be approved only when:
- The studio remains available;
- The assigned professional is available;
- Another appointment will not be disrupted;
- The requested work is appropriate for the session; and
- Any additional payment requirement is completed or approved.
Additional time may be billed at the price applicable to the active service configuration.
If additional time is approved, it may be added through the active .session.build configuration, another platform workflow, or direct confirmation from MA Music.
Continuing to use the studio after the scheduled ending time without approval is not permitted.
10. Cancellation at Least 24 Hours Before the Session
A cancellation is considered early when MA Music receives it at least 24 hours before the confirmed session start time.
For an eligible early cancellation, the amount paid for the canceled session will generally be refunded to the original payment method.
The refund applies only to the canceled session services that have not already been fulfilled.
The following may be treated separately:
- Beats or licenses already delivered;
- Downloadable products already provided;
- Custom work already completed;
- Third-party purchases;
- Non-session services contained in the same order; and
- Other items expressly identified as nonrefundable before purchase.
Refund processing times are controlled partly by the payment provider and financial institution. MA Music cannot guarantee the exact date the refund will appear in your account.
11. Cancellation Less Than 24 Hours Before the Session
A cancellation is considered late when MA Music receives it less than 24 hours before the confirmed start time.
Eligible payment for a late-canceled session will generally be converted into MA Music studio credit instead of being refunded to the original payment method.
Studio credit:
- May be applied toward an eligible future MA Music service;
- Has no cash value;
- Is not a bank balance or stored payment account;
- May not be sold or exchanged for cash;
- May not be transferred without MA Music’s written approval;
- Remains subject to future availability;
- Does not guarantee the same date, time, professional, or price; and
- May require the customer to pay any difference in price when rebooking.
Studio credit generally applies only to the eligible session portion of the canceled order.
Products, licenses, custom work, or services already delivered are not converted back into credit merely because the related session is canceled.
12. Rescheduling
A reschedule request is subject to studio and personnel availability.
More Than 24 Hours Before the Session
When requested at least 24 hours before the start time, an eligible session may generally be moved to another available appointment without losing the amount paid.
A price difference may apply when:
- The replacement session has a different duration;
- The service configuration changes;
- A different professional or room is selected;
- Pricing has changed; or
- Additional services are added.
Less Than 24 Hours Before the Session
A request to move the session less than 24 hours before it begins may be handled as a late cancellation.
The existing payment may be converted to studio credit and applied toward a newly scheduled appointment.
MA Music may make reasonable exceptions based on the circumstances, but an exception on one occasion does not require MA Music to make the same exception in the future.
A reschedule is not complete until the replacement appointment is confirmed.
13. No-Shows
You may be treated as a no-show when:
- You do not attend the session;
- You do not cancel before the scheduled start time;
- You cannot be reached within a reasonable period after the session begins;
- You leave before receiving service and do not make an arrangement with MA Music; or
- You arrive so late that the remaining time is no longer reasonably usable.
No-show payments are generally nonrefundable and do not automatically qualify for studio credit.
MA Music may choose to offer a partial credit or another accommodation, but is not required to do so.
After a no-show, MA Music may require:
- Full prepayment;
- A deposit;
- Payment of a previous balance;
- A written confirmation before booking; or
- Refusal of future bookings.
14. Cancellation or Rescheduling by MA Music
MA Music may need to cancel, shorten, delay, relocate, or reschedule a session because of:
- Illness;
- Emergency;
- Severe weather;
- Building access problems;
- Utility interruption;
- Equipment failure;
- Safety concerns;
- Internet or platform outages;
- Scheduling errors;
- Unavailability of the assigned professional; or
- Other circumstances that reasonably prevent the service.
When MA Music cannot provide the confirmed paid service, MA Music will generally offer one or more of the following:
- A replacement appointment;
- Another available studio professional;
- Studio credit;
- A refund for the affected service; or
- Another reasonable solution agreed upon with you.
MA Music is not responsible for unrelated customer expenses such as:
- Transportation;
- Lodging;
- Childcare;
- Lost wages;
- Guest or collaborator expenses;
- Rental expenses;
- Travel changes; or
- Third-party reservations.
Nothing in this section limits a right or remedy that cannot legally be limited.
15. Technical Interruptions During a Session
Music production relies on equipment, software, networks, power, and third-party services that may occasionally malfunction.
When a technical issue controlled by MA Music materially interrupts the session, MA Music may reasonably:
- Pause the active timer;
- Extend the session when scheduling permits;
- Reschedule the affected portion;
- Provide studio credit;
- Correct the affected work; or
- Issue an appropriate partial refund.
MA Music will determine the appropriate remedy based on:
- The length of the interruption;
- Whether useful work continued;
- Whether the problem was resolved;
- The amount of booked time affected; and
- Studio availability.
Customer-caused technical issues generally remain part of the booked time. Examples include:
- Forgotten passwords;
- Inaccessible customer accounts;
- Customer device failures;
- Damaged customer drives;
- Unsupported customer software;
- Missing files;
- Expired download links;
- Incorrectly exported stems; or
- Files that were not tested before the session.
16. Guests and Collaborators
You are responsible for the conduct of every guest, collaborator, child, or other person who attends under your booking.
MA Music may limit the number of people allowed in a room based on:
- Room capacity;
- Safety;
- Building requirements;
- Workflow needs;
- Noise;
- Equipment protection; and
- The comfort of staff and other customers.
Guests may not interfere with the session, enter restricted areas, operate equipment without permission, or disrupt other occupants of the building.
A guest may be asked to leave for unsafe, abusive, disruptive, or inappropriate conduct.
If a guest’s conduct requires the session to be stopped, the session may be treated as customer-caused and may not qualify for a refund.
17. Minors
Customers under 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to book, purchase, or participate in a session.
MA Music may require:
- A parent or guardian to complete the booking;
- A parent or guardian to accept the applicable agreements;
- Written authorization;
- A parent or responsible adult to be present;
- Emergency contact information; or
- Additional identity confirmation.
MA Music may refuse or pause a minor’s session when appropriate authorization has not been provided.
A parent or guardian who approves the session accepts responsibility for:
- The minor’s conduct;
- Payment;
- Guests;
- Uploaded material;
- Compliance with these Session Terms; and
- Damage caused by the minor or the minor’s guests.
18. Studio Conduct
Customers and guests must follow reasonable instructions from MA Music personnel.
The following are prohibited:
- Violence or threats;
- Harassment;
- Discriminatory abuse;
- Sexual misconduct;
- Theft;
- Intentional property damage;
- Tampering with security or building systems;
- Unauthorized access to restricted areas;
- Smoking or vaping where prohibited;
- Illegal drug activity;
- Dangerous conduct;
- Unauthorized weapons;
- Excessive intoxication;
- Interference with another customer’s session;
- Recording another person without appropriate permission;
- Use of equipment without authorization; and
- Any unlawful activity.
MA Music may immediately end a session when conduct creates a safety, legal, property, or operational risk.
A session ended because of customer or guest misconduct will generally not qualify for a refund or credit.
MA Music may refuse future service to a customer or guest involved in serious or repeated misconduct.
19. Alcohol and Impairment
Where alcohol is lawfully present, customers and guests remain responsible for complying with all applicable laws and building rules.
MA Music does not permit:
- Underage drinking;
- Illegal substances;
- Providing alcohol to a minor;
- Driving while impaired;
- Conduct that creates a safety risk; or
- Impairment severe enough to prevent safe participation.
MA Music may refuse entry or end a session when a person appears dangerously impaired or unable to follow studio instructions.
No refund is required when a session is ended because of the customer’s or guest’s unlawful or unsafe impairment.
20. Equipment and Property
You and your guests must treat studio equipment, furniture, artwork, computers, microphones, instruments, acoustic treatment, doors, and building property with reasonable care.
You may not move, disconnect, reconfigure, or operate equipment without permission.
You may be responsible for the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing property damaged through:
- Intentional conduct;
- Recklessness;
- Unauthorized equipment use;
- Failure to follow instructions; or
- Negligent conduct by you or your guests.
MA Music is not responsible for ordinary loss or damage to personal property brought into the studio unless the loss was directly caused by MA Music’s failure to exercise reasonable care.
You should keep valuable personal items with you and remove your belongings at the end of the appointment.
21. Personal Equipment
You may bring personal equipment when approved or reasonably appropriate for the service.
You are responsible for:
- Transporting it;
- Confirming it works;
- Bringing necessary cables and power supplies;
- Confirming software or driver compatibility;
- Removing it after the session; and
- Backing up any data stored on it.
MA Music may refuse to connect equipment that appears unsafe, damaged, incompatible, or likely to create a technical or electrical risk.
22. Recording and Project Results
Recording and development sessions are time-based creative services.
Payment reserves the scheduled time and professional work. It does not guarantee:
- Completion of a song;
- A specific number of recorded takes;
- A commercially successful result;
- A particular artistic style;
- Label or distributor acceptance;
- Streaming performance;
- Copyright clearance;
- Completion of editing, mixing, or mastering not included in the booking; or
- That every requested task can be completed within the purchased duration.
The amount completed depends on factors including:
- Customer preparation;
- Performance readiness;
- Number of songs;
- Complexity;
- File quality;
- Requested changes;
- Technical requirements;
- Collaborator availability; and
- Session duration.
MA Music will work in good faith to use the booked time productively.
23. Rough Audio and Development Outputs
A recording or development session may produce unfinished audio such as:
- Rough recordings;
- Session bounces;
- Demo mixes;
- Development mixes;
- Incomplete arrangements;
- Unedited vocals;
- Work-in-progress beats; or
- Other temporary project versions.
An unfinished output should not be represented as a final MA Music mix or master unless MA Music has designated it as such.
A development output may require:
- Additional session time;
- Editing;
- Mixing;
- Mastering;
- Production;
- Beat licensing;
- Revisions; or
- Another paid service before commercial release.
The applicable workspace may identify the current status of the output.
24. Mix & Master Upgrades
A session may allow you to purchase a separate Mix & Master deliverable for one or more eligible tracks.
A Mix & Master upgrade is separate from the time-based recording or development session unless expressly included in the confirmed order.
The upgrade may be governed by a separate Mix & Master Service Agreement covering:
- Source-file requirements;
- Delivery;
- Revisions;
- Approval;
- Finalization;
- Archiving; and
- Additional charges.
Selecting Mix Development during a session does not automatically mean that a final Mix & Master deliverable has been purchased.
25. Session Workspace
A confirmed booking may create a digital .session workspace or related platform object.
The workspace may contain:
- Booking details;
- Session configuration;
- Beat or source selections;
- Uploaded files;
- Project notes;
- Recorded material;
- Mix targets;
- Payment status;
- Session history;
- Deliverables; and
- Links to related .beat , .mix , or .song objects.
Workspace access may depend on:
- Account authentication;
- Verified email ownership;
- Payment;
- Project status;
- Customer permissions;
- Security restrictions; and
- Compliance with MA Music policies.
You may not attempt to access another customer’s workspace or share private access with an unauthorized person.
26. Workspace Status After Cancellation
When an eligible session is canceled before it occurs, the associated workspace may be marked for deletion.
Unless another notice states otherwise, a canceled session workspace may remain recoverable for approximately seven days before eligible workspace content is permanently removed.
During that period:
- Certain uploaded files may remain temporarily available;
- The workspace may show a pending-deletion status;
- Restoration may be possible if the session is legitimately reinstated; and
- MA Music may retain necessary booking, refund, transaction, policy-acceptance, fraud-prevention, and accounting records.
After the recovery period, MA Music may permanently delete eligible project content associated only with the canceled session.
You should not use a canceled session workspace as permanent file storage.
27. File Storage and Customer Backups
MA Music’s platform is not intended to be your only permanent backup system.
You are responsible for preserving copies of:
- Beats;
- Beat licenses;
- Lyrics;
- Stems;
- Multitracks;
- Raw recordings;
- Project sessions;
- Reference tracks;
- Artwork;
- Final deliverables; and
- Other important materials.
MA Music takes reasonable operational precautions but cannot guarantee permanent storage or recovery after:
- Customer deletion;
- Workspace expiration;
- Account closure;
- Corrupted uploads;
- Hardware failure;
- Provider failure;
- Security incidents;
- Legal removal;
- Payment disputes; or
- The end of an announced retention period.
28. Photos, Video, and Promotional Use
MA Music does not receive an automatic right to publicly use your unreleased music, image, voice, session footage, or private project information merely because you booked a session.
MA Music must obtain your permission before intentionally using identifiable session content for promotional purposes, except for incidental security footage, legally required disclosure, or another use permitted by law.
A separate showcase, media, release, or promotional authorization may be presented when MA Music requests permission to publish:
- Behind-the-scenes content;
- Photographs;
- Video;
- Testimonials;
- Preview audio;
- Artist profiles;
- Credits; or
- Finished music.
Declining optional promotional permission does not affect your ability to purchase ordinary studio services.
29. Confidentiality and Privacy
MA Music will take reasonable steps to avoid publicly disclosing private, unreleased Customer Content without permission.
However, project information may be available to:
- Assigned studio professionals;
- Authorized administrators;
- Approved collaborators;
- Technical service providers;
- Payment and scheduling providers;
- Support personnel; and
- Others described in the MA Music Privacy Policy.
MA Music may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:
- Operate the service;
- Resolve a technical problem;
- Prevent fraud;
- Address a copyright complaint;
- Protect safety;
- Enforce an agreement; or
- Comply with law.
Customers and guests are also expected to respect the privacy of other customers and studio personnel.
30. Customer Communications
You are responsible for providing accurate contact information.
MA Music may send operational messages concerning:
- Confirmation;
- Reminders;
- Access instructions;
- Schedule changes;
- Cancellations;
- Payment;
- Session configuration;
- Uploaded files;
- Workspace activity;
- Deliverables;
- Safety issues; and
- Support.
Failure to read a properly sent reminder does not cancel the booking or change the cancellation deadline.
A reminder is a convenience and is not a condition of enforcing the confirmed appointment.
31. Refund Method
Approved cash refunds will generally be returned to the original payment method.
MA Music may use another reasonable method when:
- The original payment method cannot receive the refund;
- The payment provider requires another process;
- Fraud or identity verification is necessary;
- The original transaction was split across payment methods; or
- The parties agree to another arrangement.
Studio credit is not the same as a cash refund.
Refunds do not include amounts for services or products already delivered unless MA Music expressly approves otherwise or applicable law requires it.
32. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Please contact MA Music before filing a chargeback so we have an opportunity to review and resolve the issue.
A chargeback does not automatically establish that:
- The booking was canceled;
- The service was defective;
- A refund was owed;
- Studio credit was invalid; or
- The customer had no payment obligation.
MA Music may provide the payment provider with relevant records, including:
- The booking confirmation;
- Checkout acceptance;
- Session attendance;
- Communications;
- Cancellation timestamps;
- Workspace activity;
- Payment history;
- Files delivered;
- Service records; and
- These Session Terms.
MA Music will not retaliate against a customer for raising a good-faith payment concern. However, unresolved chargebacks, fraudulent disputes, or unpaid balances may result in restricted or prepaid-only access.
33. Exceptions and Good-Faith Accommodations
MA Music may choose to make an exception because of:
- A documented emergency;
- Severe weather;
- Sudden illness;
- A system error;
- A longstanding customer relationship;
- Extraordinary circumstances; or
- Another good-faith reason.
An exception is discretionary unless required by law.
Making an exception once does not permanently change these Session Terms or require MA Music to make the same exception for another appointment.
34. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MA Music will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses related to a session, including:
- Lost profits;
- Missed release dates;
- Lost streaming opportunities;
- Label decisions;
- Distributor rejection;
- Collaborator expenses;
- Travel costs;
- Lost wages;
- Lost audience growth; or
- Failure to commercially exploit a recording.
For a claim directly arising from a specific session, MA Music’s total liability will generally not exceed the amount paid to MA Music for the affected session.
This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited or to losses caused by fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or another category that applicable law does not allow MA Music to exclude.
35. Acceptance of These Session Terms
You may accept these Session Terms by:
- Selecting an acceptance checkbox;
- Completing checkout after the terms are presented;
- Signing electronically;
- Confirming acceptance within the platform;
- Accepting a booking invoice containing the terms; or
- Using another clear acceptance method provided by MA Music.
MA Music may retain records showing:
- The version accepted;
- Date and time of acceptance;
- Customer account or guest identifier;
- Booking or order identifier;
- Checkout or payment identifier; and
- The method through which acceptance occurred.
36. Updates
MA Music may update these Session Terms as services, operations, prices, or legal requirements change.
The version accepted when you complete a booking will normally govern that booking unless:
- You and MA Music agree to a change;
- A later change benefits you;
- A change is necessary for safety or legal compliance; or
- Applicable law requires otherwise.
The current version will display a revised “Last Updated” date.
37. Contact

Cancellation and rescheduling requests are effective when they are received through an approved MA Music cancellation, rescheduling, support, or account workflow—not merely when a customer begins filling out a request.
